Joick 12“Where are we going?” Nick gasped behind me. I held tightly onto his hand as we stumbled through the bushes and trees until we came to the clearing.Joick 12
Nick was quiet, and even though he was behind me, I knew he was smiling. “Oh,” he sighed, walking past me and towards the big tree. Sure enough, there was a grin on his face. He reached out to touch the thick trunk.
“I remember this place. Our first date.”
I chuckled. “It was nothing, really.”
He smiled again. “Yeah, but it was our first date. First dates are special, even if they get a little mature

Joick 11I stared at the mirror, an array of ties and bows decorating my floor. I held a couple more in my hand, and frowned, because none of them matched.Joick 11
“I look horrible,” I sighed, dropping the pieces of fabric, letting them join the others on the floor. I wobbled over to my bed and sat down on the edge, slouching my shoulders. Sighing, I fell backwards onto my bed and stared at the ceiling, the frown still on my face.
I invited Nick to the prom. I had to go.
But if I did, I’d have to look good, and that wasn’t working out for me too well.

I tapped my foot impatiently. The line was not moving.
“Um, excuse me, sir,” I said to the man in front of me. He turned around; looking very annoyed, and sighed.
“Yes?”
I gave him a small and sheepish smile. “Well, sorry to bother you, but I wanted to know if you knew what was going on up front…?”
His expression softened, and my muscles relaxed. I thought he was going to beat me up or something. Smiling, he said, “Yeah, that lady’s been there forever. Just a while ago, I caught a drift of some words. Somethin

Joick 8“Dude, you’re killing me!”Joick 8
“Ha!” Mike wildly pressed buttons on his controller, making bullets fly at my character. “That’s the whole point of the game! You’re supposed to kill the person you’re playing against!”
“Ugh!” I groaned, watching in disappointment as my lives went from five to three. I guided my character behind a bush, which was stupid, because the bullets hit the bush at a rapid rate. The bush somehow caught on fire, and the tank I was wearing on my back caught on fire, too. I exploded, and Mike started laughing uncontrollably.
